The most difficult thing about running a small nonprofit is keeping the lights on.
Warm Heart is a nonprofit organization, we are a group of committed people working together to bring positive change to the poor community of Phrao in the foothills of Northern Thailand.
Warm Heart founders Michael Shafer and Evelind Schecter come from a life dedicated to helping others. Their recognition of the problems here in Thailand resulted in a vision to improve the lives of the children and people of Phrao. They both work tirelessly towards success of the programs.
Our main focus is on the children that live in isolated villages, isolated by distance, language, and opportunities. Without our help they would remain isolated, uneducated, and follow in the footsteps of their families to live a life of poverty.
With our help, these children are learning the language of the world outside their village. They are getting an education. Once a child joins the Warm Heart family there are no bounds to their opportunities in life. We see our kids through to their full potential, including a college education.
We have a staff of dedicated Thai’s to help us reach our goals.
Our Board of Directors are caring people who have made a commitment to the success of our program.
Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. People who care and want to make a difference by helping others.
Strategic Partners help us with projects beyond our scope of operations.
Together we are Warm Heart.
