Recent Report Card
Gai just finished the first semester of 8th grade. This is her second year at Warm Heart and she continues to excel in school with a 3.53 GPA and 10 “A”’s. She is doing well in all her core subjects – Thai, Math, Science and English
Gai is 14 years old and is in the 8th grade. She grew up in the remote Karen mountain village of Mae Soon. Her parents are both subsistence rice farmers – they made enough to live, but never had any savings. They pick tea to earn cash. Gai came to Warm Heart from the one room school house in the neighboring village.
Gai is the younger sister of our student, Mint, who graduated from Phrao high school this past year and received a scholarship to attend Sanpatong Technical and Agricultural College.
Gai was very shy when she arrived, but now takes the lead in doing her chores and always have a smile and joyful laugh when you tease her in English.
She’s very mature for her age! She does well in school and has raised her grades from a 2.7 to 3.53 (out of 4) in the year she has been at Warm Heart. She likes to read and to play volleyball with her friends at school. She wants to be a nurse when she gets older.
