We are proud to present our graduating class of 2018, and their hopes and dreams for their futures.

Joy

My name is Joy. I am 17 years old. I live in the Warm Heart Foundation in Phrao District. My family comes from Ban Kun Ban, Karen Tribe. I will be graduating from Phrao Wittayacom School.

I enjoy helping people solve their problems. When my friends need help in their English homework, I will try to teach them.

Back at Warm Heart, I will help P’SriPan, with food preparation in the kitchen. The food is served to all children and staff at mealtimes. During my mid-term break, I go back to my family’s farm to help to grow and harvest rice.

I hope to be able to work in a Thai Embassy abroad because I love talking to people. I like listening to people’s stories from different backgrounds.

If I have a chance, I want to work in Switzerland someday. It is a peaceful country and I love snow =)

To prepare myself for my future, I plan to go to Chiang Mai Rajabhat University to study English. In the next 2 years, I hope to speak fluent English after I complete my studies in school.

In my free time, I love to read Thai fiction books. From this day onwards, I will start reading books in English too.

Arm

My name is Arm. I am 17 years old. I live in the Warm Heart Foundation in Phrao District. My family comes from Koon Pang, Karen Tribe. I will be graduating from Phrao Wittayacom School.

I will describe myself as a kind person. I will try to lend a listening ear to my friends when they need me. When my friends need help for their homework, I will try to teach them.

I hope to become a nutritionist in the future because I want to help people to stay healthy. I plan to go to Chiang Mai Vocational School to study nutrition education and proceed to university for another 2 years to complete my studies. I want to speak good English and travel to different places around the world. One of these days, I would like to visit Singapore.

In my free time, I love to watch drama and listen to music. From now on, I will start watching movies in English.

Update since graduation: Arm is attending “Achiwa” Chiang Mai Vocational college and is studying retail marketing

Koon

My name is Koon. I am 17 years old. I live in the Warm Heart Foundation in Phrao District. My family comes from Koon Pang, Karen Tribe. I will be graduating from Phrao Wittayacom School.

I am always grateful for people who helped me along the way. I am thankful for my parents who have raised me up. I will study hard to do them proud. In school, I help to bring people together for group discussion.

I hope to become a nutritionist in the future because I want to help people to stay healthy. I plan to go to Chiang Mai Vocational School to study nutrition education and proceed to university for another 2 years to complete my studies.

In my free time, I love to watch drama and listen to Thai music. From this day onwards, I will start to watch more English drama and listen to English pop music. I will start to practice my english with the volunteers at Warm Heart too.

Koon Graduation 2018

Update since graduation: Koon is attending “Achiwa” Chiang Mai Vocational college and is studying nutrition.

Fu

My name is Fu. I am 17 years old. I live in the Warm Heart Foundation in Phrao District. My family comes from Ban Mae Bang, Mae Sun Tribe. I will be graduating from Phrao Wittayacom School.

I enjoy sharing jokes with my friends to make them smile. I think life is full of possibilities and everything is possible if we set our minds on our goals. I am thankful for all the things that have happened in life so far, and I am grateful for people who have helped me along the way. I want to stay true to myself, and be a trusting friend to all.

I wish to go back to my hometown after I complete my studies. I will work hard and save enough money to own a piece of land and be a landlord.

Meanwhile, I am undecided if I should further my studies or start working after high school. I will give it some thought in the next few months to decide my next steps.

I am good at playing ROV game and I am interested to learn how to create online games. If I have a chance, I would like to learn how to code and create games.

Fu Graduation 2018

Update since graduation: Fo is working for a year before he starts his military service.

Tangua

My name is Tangua. I am 17 years old. I live in the Warm Heart Foundation in Phrao District. My family comes from Chiang Dao, Ban Teng Ngiam. I will be graduating from Phrao Wittayacom School.

I love my family and I want to study hard and make them proud. When I’m home, I help my mum with household chores so she has more time to rest. At Warm Heart, I help Michael and P’lin with gardening chores to make the home a better place to live in. During my holidays, I will help P’SriPan with some cleaning chores as well.

I am always thankful to people who once helped me in life. I will always be grateful to them and I hope to be there for my family, Michael, P’lin, P’SriPan and all my friends when they need me.

In school, I will try to guide my friends when they have problems with their schoolwork. When my friends forget notebooks, I will lend them mine. In the future, my top three career choices will be Nurse, Dentist and Airline Stewardess. I will do some research to understand the nature of the jobs to help me in my decision making.

In the meantime, I will prepare for the enrollment examinations for Chiang Mai University and Mahidol University for Nursing and Dentistry. After I complete my studies, I hope to be able to work in Chiang Mai or back at my hometown.

In my free time, I love to sing karaoke and listen to Thai and English songs. Thank you everyone in Warm Heart! I will study well and succeed in life!

Update since graduation: Tangua was accepted into Asia Pacific International University School of Nursing in Bangkok.

Karaket

My name is Karaket. I am 18 years old. I live in the Warm Heart Foundation in Phrao District. My family comes from Arye Village, Ahka Tribe. I will be graduating from Phrao Wittayacom School.

I enjoy helping people and making them happy. At Warm Heart, I will help P’SriPan to cook for all children and staff. I am very optimistic. I believe that everyday will be a great day as long as we want it to. I always have a way to make my friends happy.

I am always thankful for the things that happened in life. I am grateful for people who have helped me along the way.

I hope to be able to work as a baker in Chiang Mai because I love baking. To prepare myself for my future, I plan to go to Chiang Mai Vocational School to perfect my baking skills. One day, I hope to be one of the best bakers in Thailand, so that people have a chance to try my new creations.

In my free time, I love to listen to music and watch english and chinese movies.

Aoy

My name is Aoy. I am 17 years old. I live in the Warm Heart Foundation in Phrao District. My family comes from Chiang Rai, Huey Kai Tribe. I will be graduating from Phrao Wittayacom School.

I describe myself as responsible and a great team player. In school, I display good sportsmanship when playing games. At Warm Heart, I will help P’SriPan with food preparation in the kitchen. I also help other staff by taking care of the younger children at Warm Heart. I make an effort to play with them and to help them with homework.

I hope to be able to work as a hotel receptionist in Chiang Mai. I enjoy talking to people and I want to make the foreign visitors feel like home whenever they visit Thailand. If I have a chance, I would love to work in France, Japan, Korea or Singapore.

To prepare myself for my future, I plan to go to Chiang Mai Vocational School to study hospitality and continue to further my studies in Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna in Chiang Mai thereafter.

In the next 2 years, I hope to pick up the basics of foreign languages such as Japanese, French, English and Mandarin. I will take the opportunity to learn from the volunteers at Warm Heart.

In my free time, I love to listen to music in Korean, Thai and English. Thank you everyone in Warm Heart! I will study well and succeed in life!
