Empowering Children

Children’s Homes

We provide a safe home for 45 children from isolated mountain villages and broken families who have no place else to go. We offer an opportunity to succeed through education, with family-style housing, balanced nutritious meals, school uniforms, tutors, and medical care. We sponsor 30 additional children at Ton Roong, a government boarding primary school for Hill Tribe children. But it can only care for the kids five days a week. We provide caregivers, meals, and teachers on weekends.

Core competency, job skills for rural Thai youth

This project funds a community-based computer learning center that combines online with hands-on job training for disadvantaged rural youth in North Thailand. High drop-out rates leave rural youth vulnerable to trafficking for jobs outside their rural agricultural communities. With core competencies in customer service, English, computers, and hospitality, students will meet the entry-level requirements of major employers as they recover from the COVID19 lockdown.

Higher Education Fund

Young Hill Tribe girls in remote impoverished villages in the mountains of Northern Thailand have little chance to escape a life of poverty. Educational opportunities are minimal. Too often girls turn to the sex trade industry for survival. We offer an alternative choice. We begin by helping them learn the Thai language so they can attend public school, provide the required uniforms, school supplies, transportation, after school tutoring, health care, and a loving home with nutritious meals.

Access to Care

Access Safety Net

Our mission is not medical, but caring. We do not believe that being old should be like a prison sentence to solitary confinement. This program identifies elders and disabled people at risk and ensures basic nutrition and access to medical care. We bring fun, music, games, and laughter. We clean bodies, homes, and clothes. We bring warm clothes and food. We do wound care, physical therapy, art therapy, check their medication and take people to the doctor. This sets up a model for rural care.

Malawi Project

Most of those who live in East Africa see wide, treeless vistas of straggly corn, degraded, dusty, red soil. Rains are increasingly unpredictable and storms more terrible. Temperatures are rising, crop pests multiplying and old diseases spreading again. Every year, fires rage across the countryside, the smoke reddening the sun and killing thousands of the young and elderly. Sustainable farming with Biochar offers a simple, easily accessible solution to many of the problems and feed thousands.

Stop the Smoke/Agroforestry Project

This project teaches small-holder farmers to make biochar, an alternative to open field burning of crop waste. Farmers increase incomes, renew soil, eliminate soil pollutants. Agricultural burning is a major contributor to greenhouse gases. Our “Stop the Smoke!” project is active in rural northern Thailand, among the worst air quality in the world. Project is globally replicable, expands the village coop model producing biochar products; improves health outcomes, reduces global warming.

Young Smart Farmers

Warm Heart provides a home to 45 disadvantaged hill tribe children, providing them with a safe, loving home, healthy meals, and the opportunity to go to school. Without our help these children would have no future. Our Young Smart Farmer project is teaching these kids how to grow organic gardens, which provides them with a valuable skill and helps feed all of the children at Warm Heart.
