A Season of Gratitude

All around the world Autumn is a traditional time to express gratitude through celebrations. In America it is celebrated with Thanksgiving Day. Here in northern Thailand we celebrate Loy Krathong. While we are appreciative of your support every day of the year, we decided to dedicate our Fall Newsletter to our gratitude.

A Word From Michael and Evelind

Eight years ago we made the choice to move to Thailand and dedicate our lives to helping the community of Phrao. It has been an amazing journey, and many of you have been with us every step of the way.

Our road was not paved. It has been full of potholes with lessons to be learned, but we have survived and triumphed! When we look around at the progress we have made, we are filled with gratitude.

To all of our friends and family we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Our Volunteers

Over the years we have truly been blessed with an abundance of talented and dedicated volunteers. With their help we have been able to move mountains. Groups have come in to build playgrounds and gyms, teach English and art. Partners have stepped-up to build entire buildings and water systems. Everyone who has participated with us has contributed to our success in his/her own special way.

The Community

The community of Phrao has embraced our efforts to bring positive change to the lives of the people. From our incredible, dedicated Thai staff, our committed and responsive Board of Directors, and the involvement and participation of community members, we have had a positive impact on the lives of the children, the elderly and disabled, the mothers and the fathers, and the environment.

Our Sponsors and Donors

Without the support of our sponsors and donors we would not be able to accomplish all that we have. We still have more work ahead of us, and appreciate your continued support. You are our lifeline, and we appreciate your generosity and compassion to our mission.

We are very happy to announce on October 1, 2015 we received a Breath of Fresh Air Grant from the US State Department to help further our BioChar project. Read more about it and find out just how big the grant was!

You can now Shop on our site for beautiful products made by our Microenterprise Women’s Artisan Co-ops. Great place to do your holiday shopping. Every purchase supports a family and helps us grow our program!

Project Access
One of our goals is to help members of the disabled community gain mobility. Watch our video to see what can be accomplished in a day (or two) with a coordinated effort between the community and volunteers!

At long last! Back in March we celebrated Evelind’s 60th birthday with a Cause campaign to raise money for a much needed used truck. Thanks to all who contributed to our successful campaign, we were finally able to find the perfect truck! Vroom Vroom!

Season of Giving

Right on the heels of the Season of Gratitude comes the Season of Giving. Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, is a major shopping day that kicks off holiday shopping, followed by Cyber Monday when the internet is overflowing with holiday sales.

But the most important day is #Giving Tuesday, where all around the world people give thanks for their own abundance by donating to others.

This year we have joined #Giving Tuesday in hopes of raising much needed funds for the coming year.

Join our campaign “Be the Change” and experience the fun and excitement of a group working together towards a common goal! Send us your “unselfies” to post on our Wall of Appreciation. Be creative and have fun, and jump into the spirit of the holidays!

From the Warm Heart Family ~

We wish each of you a peaceful and love filled holiday season.
