As a Thai organization with a developmental mission, Warm Heart fills all unskilled positions and any position for which we can provide the necessary training, with local, previously unemployed hires. Therefore, we do not accept “general volunteers.” We recruit individuals with the skills and expertise relevant to specific projects and initiatives.

Public Relations (PR) and Marketing Specialist
Warm Heart seeks an individual with experience in both PR and marketing to develop and execute a marketing strategy for the Warm Heart Thailand brand. This position requires market research and concept development, as well as execution of Warm Heart’s outreach to the media, potential volunteers, the local community, and donors. This individual must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility.
Responsibilities include:
- Identifying, drafting, and distributing relevant and timely press releases
- Managing, writing, and distributing a monthly eNewsblast
- Designing, writing, and distributing a quarterly Newsletter
- Creating donor and community information packets
- Designing initiative-relevant promotional materials
- Managing and updating the Warm Heart Blog
- Additional website maintenance and content management, as needed
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and experience in marketing and PR

Small Business Developer
Warm Heart seeks an individual able to work with villagers, to envision small businesses and then make them happen. This individual must be highly entrepreneurial, possess the ability to conduct market analysis, develop budgets, and write business plans - and to teach these skills. This position requires an individual who is entrepreneurial to the core and undeterred by the most difficult and apparently inhospitable conditions.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing assessment and in-depth research to identify potential business concepts
- Working closely with villagers to plan and execute business concepts
- Generating, supervising, and managing several projects at the same time
- Teaching villagers the skills they will need to independently maintain their business

Micro Enterprise Project Researcher
Warm Heart seeks an individual who is able to work in a multi-cultural environment with villagers and local Thai staff to envision the development and creation of small businesses. Individuals must be a self-starter, possess the ability to develop budgets, write business plans, and conduct market analysis.
Responsibilities include:
- Assessment of local living standards and product research on village site visits
- Ability to assess and alter local products to a US market
- Designing marketable materials in conjunction with local products.
- Managing a budget on Excel
- Managing contact with shipping companies and meet customs requirements
- Maintaining and developing US contacts for sale of products
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of excel
- Excellent writing and business skills
- Careful attention to detail and costs
- Ability to work in an intensive environment with tight deadlines
- Ability to work with multi-ethnic staff (*who may not speak English or understand US business style)

Public Health Program Manager
Warm Heart seeks an individual to manage and grow our two mobile clinics. The clinics – a dental clinic and a general medicine clinic – are loaded into the back of our pick-up truck and taken to mountain villages. The clinics will be staffed by fifth year students from the Chiang Mai University Faculties of Dentistry and Medicine.
Responsibilities include:
- Project management and execution
- Fundraising
- Creating and managing a budget
- Acting as liaison with the Faculties of local universities, professors, and village headmen
- Transportation, equipment maintenance, and supplies inventory and management
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of public health and the delivery of community health services
- Good organization skills
- Ability to solve problems on the fly
- Ability to see the big picture
- Work without close supervision and meet tight deadlines

Nurse
Warm Heart seeks a third year (or above) nursing student to work in the community to provide health care and health education and to strengthen community ties.
Responsibilities include:
- Identify important health issues in the community and develop simple training sessions to address these problems
- Part time work in the local clinics
- Assist the Public Health Office volunteers in the collection of data
Qualifications:
- Cross-cultural sensitivity and interpersonal empathy

Database Designer
Warm Heart seeks an individual with excellent coding skills and both database and web design experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting a small team of Thai public health officers and computer science students in development of an interactive, GIS-based database
- Development of a database able to provide detailed, individualized health records, genealogical, marital, occupational, etc. data at the household and village level in the Phrao district
- Project planning and development in all aspects of the development process
Qualifications:
- Strong background in Database design and management
- Self starter who can work without close supervision
- Good intercultural communication skills
- Ability to see the big picture
