Warm Heart does not accept generic “volunteers;” we recruit individuals with skills we require to do jobs we cannot do ourselves. We are not simply being difficult. Warm Heart is a Thai organization with a developmental mission. All unskilled positions and any position for which we can provide the necessary training, we reserve for local, previously unemployed hires.
But don’t let our hiring policy stop you from working at Warm Heart. Conduct a creative inventory of your experience and skills, and you will understand why we think that your time with us would be wasted if you spend it doing unskilled physical labor or some other, equally generic service activity.
Some of our needs and the associated skills are obvious – ESL teachers, organic farmers, and nurses, – but others are not. For example, do you have web design skills? We run an e-commerce portal for local women’s handicrafts. Do you have experience in retail? Have you run your church’s or synagogue’s holiday bazaar? Could you help us design a Christmas catalog of local handicrafts that you could convince your church – and other churches in your area – to order from? If you worked for a pharmaceutical company, could you work with our public health teams to identify critically needed drugs and vaccinations and then write an outreach proposal? Are you a fashion designer? Could you help us develop a product line that uses local motifs in new products? Are you a PR professional? Can you help us tell the world about Warm Heart? Are you a librarian? Can you help the Middle School develop its collection – and our staff conduct better research?
If you are interested in one of the listed positions, please email the Employment Coordinator. Make sure to include the title of the position of the subject line. Please make your email a professional letter of inquiry or job application letter. We take the quality of your writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation into account. Please attach a copy of your resume.
