The Bad News…

We’re Heading Into Smokey Season

The Good News…

We’re Reaching A Solution!

Every one of us in Chiang Mai feels the effects of the smokey season — that time of year when farmers burn their crop waste and the air becomes heavy with smoke. Warm Heart’s Biochar Project is fighting against the smoke and it’s detrimental effects on our health by offering a sustainable solution. Read on to learn about our recent strides and other updates from Warm Heart!

Warm Heart Receives Grant From US Consulate

In October, we received the “Breath of Fresh Air” grant from the US Consulate which has lifted our project off the ground and into the hands of local change makers and villagers.

Deputy Governor’s Visit Leads to Important Action!

Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai and local government officials have requested biochar training for 4 districts after their visit to Warm Heart.

Biochar Training Success!

Warm Heart trained roughly 120 people on the basics of biochar, and how to make a portable, inexpensive biochar machine to reduce the smoke and prevent its ill effects.

Does Biochar Really Work?

Results from our experimental farm were even better than expected, proving biochar can significantly increase rice yields.

70 Kids & The Promenada Mall

We took all 70 children from both the children’s home and Ton Roong school to Promenada Mall’s Christmas Celebration. They performed on stage, enjoyed the Children’s Play Area, and watched a movie in a 360 Degree Dome. View Photos from the Event!
