Fish Pond
Help the Warm Heart kids feed themselves – and teach others, too! Warm Heart wants to go beyond teaching the people of Phrao to fish. We want to teach them how to farm fish in sustainable, organic fish ponds. We will dig and stock the pond. Will you provide the liner?
Cost: $500
-
Orchard
Fruit fresh from the tree for breakfast – what more could you want? Pesticide free fruit! Unfortunately, the spreading orchards around Phrao are doused in pesticides. Warm Heart wants to our kids to pick their breakfast fruit from their own, organic orchards – and we want to teach our neighbors how to go organic, too. Will you plant an orchard for one of the Children’s Homes?
Cost: $500
-
Computer Lab
You can’t imagine what an extraordinary travel experience it is for our kids to explore the World Wide Web. And the computer that swept them away figuratively will also be their passport when they have studied computer skills at our school. Will you buy a computer for the Warm Heart Computer Lab?
Cost: $750
-
Organic Garden
How can almost landless farmers support themselves without the cash to buy fertilizer? Go intensive organic. The kids living in the Warm Heart Children’s Homes till their own organic gardens – and teach the folks from back home new, more productive and profitable ways of farming. Will you help us construct the demonstration farm?
Cost: $1,000
-
Piggery and Bio-gas Generator
No, pigs don’t stink. That’s the methane and other green house gases produced by their fermenting poop. Did you know that if we collect a couple of pigs’ poop in a bio-gas generator it will produce enough methane to cook all of the Warm Heart kids’ food – and light the Children’s Homes, too? Will you build us a piggery and bio-gas generator?
Cost: $1,500

Motorbike
Imagine living someplace where there is one dentist for every 13,500 people! Now imagine that a student organization called Global Medical Relief collects boxes dental supplies for a local dental hygienist – but that she can’t help people because she has no way of getting to them. Will you help us buy her a motorbike?
- Motorbike cost: $250
- Gas and maintenance for one year: $300

Hill Tribe Languages Instructor
Akha, Lisu, Lisau, Hmong, Lanna Thai. The kids at our school reflect the wonderful ethnic and cultural diversity of northern Thailand. But few of them really speak their own languages and because they don’t they cannot carry on the great oral histories of their peoples. Can you help us keep Hill Tribe culture alive by helping us employ a grandmother to teach the old way?
Cost: $100 per term

Traditional Dance Outfit
If you know the language, you can read the threads as you wander through a teeming outdoor market. There – a Lisu girl with her wonderful hanging fringe or there – an Akha mother bedecked in black and silver with intricate leggings. One day a week we ask the children to wear their traditional garb and not their utilitarian school uniforms. Some are too poor. Will you help us ensure that no child is left out?
Cost: $25
